image masking Help

Post by suekea333 » Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:20 pm

Hey guys my quick question is how do you take a character from one anime and move just the character themselves to a completely different scene, basically changing the background around the character, was wondering if you can do this with adobe premiere.

For a complex, moving character, doing it as the video shows with Vegas can be VERY time consuming. I used it a LOT in several of my videos (like Anime Duet) and I would spend 8 hours to get perhaps 5 seconds of usable, finished footage.

Adobe After Effects has much more powerful masking tools. I have tried them, but they (like most things these days) are above my ability to learn it seems.

In my "Legend of the Anime" I used Vegas to mask then animate a JPG image of a spider - making it's legs move as it walked. I'm very happy with the results for the spider.
(he crawls in at about 42 seconds if you'd like to check it out.)
