Is it smooth, or is it too smooth?

Post by lamrith » Thu Dec 12, 2019 6:18 pm

In my continuing journey learning how to make AMV's I have been working with transitions in my latest effort. After a few evenings learning how to manipulate various transitions and add-on effect packages and incorporating new things into my videos I am pretty exited about how much they transform a scene and add to a story. I am still trying to get my clips shorter, but often scene changes/timing/transitions from an original anime are just spot on and are part of the message I am trying to get across so I use them as originally produced.

However what I am noticing now, is that I have enough of my own transitions put in my AMV that those original cuts stand out and are almost jarring. The original cuts stand out as not the norm. For some cuts that is good and the point, but for others I am left wondering; should I put a transition of my own here to soften/make it flow better and fit the rest of the amv??

Anyone else ever dealt with that?
