How I can do this Flash/Light/Brightness effect on After Effects ?

Post by pumpkin2 » Wed May 13, 2020 4:05 am

Hello everyone,

I am new to video editing and I am interested by Anime Music Videos (AMV).

The author use a a slight white or black light effect that flickers throughout the video and I wanted to reproduce this effect on after effects but I don't khnow how.

Could anyone please explain to me or link me a tutorial for this ?

Well it would help if you could link to the actual effect so we could see.
But what you describe sounds very basic. Just have a layer with the effect you want, and keyframe it on and off at the times you want. This layer could be something like a solid white or black layer. Or maybe an adjustment layer with an effect like brightness/contrast or levels applied to it.

Could it be the AMV that's linked in this basically identical Reddit post?

Edit: This reeks strongly of this other topic from the other day that I now discover was also copied from two other fora, one of which was Reddit. Do we need to get a better CAPTCHA in the forum registration process or something? :?

yeah, you're probably right. I just changed the captcha settings, so hopefully, that will help
