Advanced AE Particle Effect?
I want to kinda take a pic of an anime character (Black and White) and make it kinda turn into particles. Then come back together into 2 different bars. The 2 different bars I want them to be = distance from the center and to make the particles on each half move to create the bar on the opposite half of the video. If I'm making sense.
I don't edit. Usually.

I have something similar. It's a MAD though. And it's only a third of what I want. It has the particles part which isn't the problem. It's the part of making the anime character turn into particles.-Soup wrote:Have any video or scene where it has been done @_@?
The video is the Shin+ie onoken movie I think? That or this: onoken×ESCT sound graphics 2005で発表されたSHN+ie氏の作品 (Which I have no idea what that means)

Use a mask to make the character disappear.
At the same time, add particles from the area that is disappearing.

I thought it over for a few minutes and visualized what you're after. I think it can actually be done with the built-in AE shatter effect. Get this:
You have your character mask/cutout/subject explode into a shatter mask. You'll probably want to slow the speed of the shatter explosion down toward the edges for effect, and it'll probably look better if you use a lot of small particles.
Then create you create the bars you want in PS, etc. Take the same shatter effect you applied to the character and apply it to a separate shatter composition with the bars. Be sure to keep all the variables the same (seed, speed, etc). You then export that into a lossless AVI, reimport it, and REVERSE the footage and line up the shatters, and have it fade in over the character, so it will seem like the particles are reassembling.

The best solution is trapcode form layer with layer maps set to the source clip animated with the disperse parameter.
An easier way is the scatter effects.
