Maya Textures Disappearing

Post by LittleAtari » Sat Sep 26, 2009 1:04 am

Hmm, dont know how many Maya savvy people we have here, but maybe someone can help me.

I'm having a problem where I'll texture one poly object and as soon as I assign a texture to another poly, the previous textured poly will loose its texture. I've got a couple of different polys that are textured in the same scene and I had no issues with them, but it seems almost like i'm not allowed to texture any more polys.

i never used maya so i have no idea.

i hope this was helpful.

ps. check your nodes. maybe you need a read/sample node for each object or something.

That sounds almost like you're overriding your mapping with more mapping...I generally apply one map to the entire object then sort out the surface in the UV editor...though it has been a long time since I've used maya, and that was one of the things that turned me off about it.

I actually managed to figure it out, but I thought i'd just update the thread with. What ZephyrStar said is right.
