Live action clips-coloring

Post by Mol » Wed Jan 20, 2010 9:13 pm

I just was wondering if somebody had some more experience with coloring something from camera/movie since i'm trying to get out of it some more dramatic mood and like i already know about b&w and sepia tho sepia doesn't really give me very satisfying outputs when modifying it.. and b&w well i would like leave that to last resort it's not bad i just want something else :P
Anything else.. in even basic sets that would work?
oh it's recorded mainly in places with lots of daylight so yeah... :uhoh:
And heavy look is rather a no-no... but ya can post that too :P
Still better than that MMO.

"basic sets:"
Look for "blue hour" on the internet. It might be the colour set that you want.

I suggest that you read tutorials of the effects Hue & Saturation and Levels. They're basic, but yet powerful ways to manipulate colours.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

Forgot to mention that it can be AP,AE&Vegas tho i haven't tried making it in ae&ap yet would be cool to keep it in vegas but, it doesn't matter in which program i will finally do it :P

yeah i guess tho somehow it's hard to make something fit into l&a uh huh O: so i would rather know in what "sets" i could find something that might actually fit into it. D: Tho i haven't experimented with that yet... i will see :P

which i like
but now i've a dilema i really like it with vegas glint it works kind of like modified shine or something.

First one is way too blurred, second one looks pretty crappy too - what's that shining thing in the bottom middle? :| I'm really not getting what you're trying to achieve, but it certainly doesn't look like coloring.

Also, both look quite pixelated and blurry, is that how the original shot is? How about a more representative still, maybe?

well it's because it will go in pretty fast ...because my hand for cam sux.. :P
http://i49.tinypic.com/juxrmw.jpg here's less blurred one

original http://i47.tinypic.com/rr18c5.jpg

well about second one well it's my weird taste tho i would like that but somehow better blended in :P

well i'm playing around i heard green might give also some effect but somehow it doesn't blend in too well D:

anyway pixelaton and stuff doesn't matter atm can cleanup it later P:

also keep in mind i will probably use few shots with probably various looks i mean all of them are in daylight, but ... yeah D: probably will need to fix up sets for them

That looks quite unnatural but I guess that's what you're going for.. Though you could blend that in a bit better as well. It's up to you really as long as the ending result doesn't come out too untasteful.

If I were you I'd try to darken it up a bit before applying my color of choice, so the lighter shots can also blend in better with the darker shots and give the video a better feel overall. Quick example http://i46.tinypic.com/szy26t.jpg

yeah i know it's not too natural but like well i can always resign from it it's just for experimenting sake to get better mood since i wanna put it in amv, will do a xvid or mp4 later on how it looks and send a beta to someone ; O
