Need help with making an intro logo.

Post by DJAngelicon » Mon Jan 25, 2010 1:54 am

Hi guys, Is been a very long time I haven't been in here. I want to try to go back and get my old hobby of making amv videos back. Since I have so much to catch up to I would like to start with logo intro. What is a good program that I can use to make my animated logo and were could I find a good tutorial for making animated logos. That way I can add them to my new videos once I start making them.

Given that you are likely talking 3D animation, blender might be something to try. This should probably be in Effects though. Don't be surprised when it gets moved.

Indeed.

As for logo animation, either some 3d program like blender as kio suggested, or perhaps after effects might actually suffice depending on what kind of animation you wanna do. What do you have in mind?

Based on the fact that you listed AE as comfortable on your profile. I'd suggest just sticking with that unless you're feeling adventures. In which case I'd suggest something a little more user friendly like a C4D or 3DsMAX. C4D being the easier choice if strictly for logo animations.

Man is been a long time I have used After Effect, 3D Studio Max cause during that time I was trying to learn Maya. Beside that I guess I am going to need to check particle illusion to see if that would be easier to create a logo with. At the effect section I will try to post a different post about videos effects since I am just getting back into AMV making and last main program I used was Adobe 1.5. Finally upgraded and will need to re-learn it all over I guess.

Particle illusions just does as the name suggests particles. Can't really do any logo designs with it.

You are right, I decided to give AE another try and I am actually getting more done with that one. So I will focus using that for my logo design and other video effects later on. Thanks Guys! :D
