Hi it's Treon again,
and I want to become a better amv editor. I come from youtube, where editors abuse flashes and what not, and I want to develope my own style over time. I was wondering if you guys could give me opinions on http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=178021 (: I know compared to people from the org, its barely anything special, but I want your opinions on what I need to do to get better.

Anyways about the video, it's not bad tbh, could do with a polish but generally not bad, didn't see abused flashes or fx-whoring going on. But then it's only 22 seconds, can't exactly whore it that much in such a short time xD

Let's start with the section at 0:01 - I liked the cutter you had going at Sasuke's eyes but you didn't use it for Sakura which I felt was a little strange but nothing too major, just my personal thoughts if I was a beta-tester I'd recommend replicating that effect there

Also at 0:05 - the mask of Kakashi and then at 0:07 - the mask of Sasuke: this was pretty random and broke the flow that you had going in the video.

Scene at 0:08 kinda dragged on and made the lip flapping look more noticeable than it should.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a blank clip at around 0:15?

Also ending with Sasuke = pretty random.

Generally speaking, the editing itself was not bad, the shakes and blurs looked quite nice to me and props for using footage from the movies I haven't seen many of those. I think the video would have benefited better if you used more action scenes rather than rely on effects for the sync.

and yeah i agree, I should have used more action scenes :O
Its just that when im editing, I get stuck (like at the kakashi mask, I got stuck so I masked my way out of it)

When editing with Naruto, you have to do exceptionally well. It has become overused, usually in very low quality videos, and people are prejudiced against it. I admit I considered not watching at all, when I saw the source.
I definitely agree with AimoAio on this:

Other than that: I feel it was very nicely synced and I was glad you didn't overuse/misuse effects. On the other hand it mostly looked like random scenes were thrown in and cut short enough to sync.
Another thing is the audio. I presume you cut the rest of the song, didn't you? As my sound system is awful, this might be only my problem, but I think the end could be cut much better.

The question is whether you want to consider videos as rushed as this one worthy of uploading to the org. In my opinion it's similar to videos made in ICs - so come out wonderful in the set time, but most are just deemed as betas, improved later on and then uploaded, when the editor feels the video can't be bettered anymore.

Well, Ive saw worst videos on the org. It has many members so Im sure not every video would be "worthy" of being here in the first place. I just needed an opinion on this video, because Im trying to get my own style and needed help doing this.
