First video
Not sure if I'm going to make videos as a habit, but I did have fun making this. I just used Windows Movie maker for it, nothing special.
I don't think it's bad for a first try, opinions?

Re: First video
I see potential. My biggest gripe is with things you will improve upon if you do more. Namely...
1) footage full of artifacts -- you will learn to get your own and to clean it if you make this a habit
2) syncing was lacking -- I fully appreciate that this was a thematic video and kudos for conveying an existential vibe
to an existential song, to an existential anime...er..game. HOWEVER, as I am learning, just because you don't and/or
shouldn't sync to every beat and/or lyric for this type of vid(and others) doesn't mean you should ignore them. Some 10
second clips tell you what you need to know in 2 or 9. cutting half a second here or there to create sync will do wonders
to a video with a good concept as a backbone.
3) time stretched clips too choppy to use -- the audience should never be brought out of enjoying your vid because of technical
aspects, unless in awe of how good they are(and even then...)
I thought it got really strong at 2:38(till the end), even with that ridiculous bump in volume at the end. Don't get me wrong. I liked
the change in music, I just wished you had muted it slightly. The bump in energy could have still survived a 7 or 8 instead
of an 11. Hurt my old man ears.
JMO, feel free to look at my first and tell me to shove it. I too used wmm. And I also am nowhere near award winning, yet.

1. I didn't quite get what you meant by that honestly.WiseAnt wrote:I see potential. My biggest gripe is with things you will improve upon if you do more. Namely...

2. Yeah I did try to sync to some extent but I'm easily defeated... and I sound found out that by clipping parts of a video in the beginning would then mess up the syncing towards another scene and what not.
3. By that did you mean the quality of the clips weren't as great? I know some of them weren't at their peak.
surprisingly enough, the thought of turning the volume down towards the end hadn't even crossed my mind. Maybe it's because i didn't know I could do that ha.
In the future I may (if I muster up the energy to do so) remake this, so that's actually good ideas. Thank you.

Re: First video
In the first point he means like for example: logos, blurred footage, subs, you know unwanted things from the anime episode, and since this is your first time, not bad, just keep in mind what WiseAnt said

Re: First video
Clarification:
1) I meant Jpeg artifacts and other things such as what Loki mentioned.
2) That is the fine art of what we do, finding a way to get sync here while also getting sync there. Kind of like carving/sculpting. We take original footage and whittle it down to become what we want it to be. Well, we try anyway. Look for people with multiple versions of their vids to see what tweaking can do. Pozorrogo has the one that gave me the light bulb moment. Oh, and WMM can be frustrating with how limited your options are on cutting and shoehorning clips. Not impossible, but frustrating. I wouldn't advocate getting another program until you are sure you like editing though.
3) To be specific, the clip at 1:25, and a few before it, looked like someone was advancing the footage frame by frame. Personally distracting. I've done the same thing because I was too stubborn and wanted a clip that just wasn't long enough. Doesn't make it any prettier.
