Hey everyone. I"m new to amv making and was just hoping for some advice from people who have more experience with them. Just some advice on what I could do better or things to try. I also would take ideas for Amvs if you want, but I am new to this still...
here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkqHBHUHqOQ
Thank you in advance!

Re: My first amv
You definitely have potential, and I feel like you have a good feel for the music and the mood of the AMV. If you would like a suggestion, I would ask you to get higher quality footage. If you get 1280x720 footage (which is usually best, even though 1920x1080 is technically the highest quality-- I don't like how 1080p lags and I'm too lazy to create the proper proxies) then you won't have an awkward-looking black box in your Youtube videos. Also, what editing program are you using? I prefer Vegas Pro 13, though some people like After Effects. I used to use Windows Movie Maker, but I was getting nowhere with that one. -_-
Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I'm new to AMVs too, but I hope to rise to par with the greats! (triumphant salute)

Thanks! Its nice to meet you too!
Thanks for the tips, I will try to get some better footage for my next one, and maybe try to redo and fix this one. My current project is a bit better for quality so...We'll see what happens!
I was using Cyberlink powerdirector 6 (Its kinda old) but have switched to Sony vegas 12.0 Platnium. I find it works well, (Have yet to finish anything with it) Never Tried any other besides WMM and HATED that...
And Holy crap your good, surprised that you're new to this (Especially like the Everything Collides one, I'm a SNK fan tho so...Grain of salt and all ) I really liked it!
And I hear you, I have a few people I want to equal once I get (A LOT) of practice
