[3:1] "First" AMV w/ Sony Vegas; Any Advice for a Newcomer?

Post by DirtBag » Mon Jan 02, 2017 4:56 pm

I used to edit with WMM then stopped when I was younger. Recently, my SO gave me a decked out computer w/ Sony Vegas 13 and this is my first product with it.

I'd appreciate any advice on flow, making actions amvs, trap, etc. and any comments on the resolution problems I JUST noticed.

hello, i watched the video and it was... a mess. 4:3 resolution + black bars and low res quality, already looks really unprofessional and non polished. also, what is the goal of your video? what i saw was a decent eye for sync (could hit the beat with changes) but completely random scenes. Its not bad for a first try (i ve seen MUCH worse :P), but:
1: make sure your source is high quality, people dont like pixels, and if you arent using 16:9 resolution do it for a reason.
2: create a story for every video. what is going on in it? what do u want to achieve with it?
3: dont just focus on hitting the beat just to be a sync addict and looking cool
4: try and find your own editinng style.

good luck to any future edits, you have room for improvement :D

Thanks for the feedback! I'll apply it to my next video (hope it goes better!). I'll try to look on the guides on this site for sourcing help but would read anything you recommend as well.
