OKay Braveliver, I've got a real oldschool vid of mine, but it's a love story so it'll fit your requirements. But, it's DBZ, so I don't know your feelings on that, and it's DL footage, so I don't expect very good scores, I just wanna know what you think of the concept.

Thanks, Peace!

Braveliver wrote:You were right Spork. That is an amazing video, just wish Sarah had put it in herself. If you wish to share a link I do not mind, but I may refrain from reviewing them due to the fact that the author themselves didn't submit the link for review. For this instance I will be reviewing it because I think I have some helpful information for Sarah that can help her a lot.

Her video has sections where she has slowed down her footage in Premiere, and when you do this you can have a flicker on the top and bottom of your screen. Just as a tip of advice, you can remove this by right clicking the slowed clip, and choose Video Setup, and in the menu that pops to the side, Field Options, then click on Flicker Removal. This will make your clip nice and smooth without any flickering. (Had to learn the hard way.) Just a Premiere tip from Braveliver.
I think the other one is also to "UNCHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS "DEINTERLACE IF SLOWER THAN 100% SPEED""

I got that a LOT when I was getting ops from people for my Blue Sky Brings Tears video. Uncheck that when EVER you slow your footage down even by 0.00000000000001% [you WILL regret it if you don't]
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

By the way. I didn't mention it at the top, but there is a new section you will be reviewed on in all these free opinions. Instead of just the usual catagories, there is the added catagory of Emotional Impact - this is where I will grade you on how much emotion you have brought out with your vid.
Ah, yah wan tah know how I got mah name do ya? Well now, when I was a wee little tyke of 1 year ah wen a crawling up to a keg o' fire ale an started licken the spout. Mah mother saw meh and says, "Ah what a BraveLiver you got there," an the name stuck.

Unless you've already de-interlaced your footage during the capture process, in which case Premiere comes up with something like this.

The problem in that sort of AMVs is that in the majority of them, you must have seen the anime to understand all the sadness ... thx for your free opinions :)

That is so true Istiv. Though the best ones still convey the emotions even without you having seen the video before, but it is true that you sometimes have to have watched the anime before.

For peoples information, emotional quality does not affect any other portion of the reviews. All of the other catagories are judged just like any other. If you are interested in seeing how I score, I have included a journal entry on how I normally score. Just look in my journal to figure what it is I use to come up with my scores.

Omni. As to the flicker, I have heard that one too, but it didn't work when I tried it. It wasn't untill I used the Remove Flicker function that the flickering stopped. It really worked with my latest videos. It was the flickering problem that caused me to hold them back for so long.

Well, thanks to Sporkmaster for suggesting, and thanks to Braveliver for the idea. I think it's a great idea for a thread. 8) I might've submitted it myself, except that I don't often come into this forum.

So thanks for the op, I'll be answering it shortly. And thanks for the tip on the flicker.
