oh, i see, the first link went to a different user's entry (or to a different username's entry, at least). that's a horse of a different color - perhaps i should have thought that one through first. and yes, if that's the case, it does sound like a case of multiple accounts (or someone who's so concerned about stealing credit that they loudly demand reviews - which isn't very likely, and i don't expect it). of course there might be some third possibility that i haven't even counted upon, but i have no idea what that would be, so you're probably right on this one.
and yes, there's a bit of an arlo guthrie influence on that reply, while we're on the topic of giving credit for intellectual property.
and you know what - i think i actually might just review that video and break the cycle of idle non-critical argument. depends on whether i see enough in it to come up with a decent review.

dude i dont know what ur problem is rose..this is just a AMV forum u dont have to freak out when somebody says OP their vid in a really arrogant way..OF COURSE i was jokin when i said my vid was a masterpiece and i just wanted to sound arrogant when i asked to OP my vid so it would get ppl's attention...and it obviously has since u wrote ESSAYS on this topic..i hate it when i post once or twice on the same topic and somebody just types paragraph after paragraph about just nonsense..but oh well thanks for OPing my vid rose but u dont have to be such an asshole..oh and also i think i do have separate accounts....dont u have to have a separate account on the forums and for the amv site? i thought i did cuz i always login as ssj4trunksjr on the main AMV site and when i went to forums it prompted me to login again so i thought i need another account for the forums...sorry bout that if anybody is really anal about ppl havin more than one account..but oh yeah rose can u OP my WAKE UP KENSHIN vid?i think that one is probably truely my best vid...

no you don't need a separate account from the one you have in the main database from the forums. if it's a mistake, it's not as bad, but still something that's frowned upon here (especially if you decide to enter any competitions down the road). you might want to contact Phade about having one of the accounts removed to avoid future problems of this nature.

i make a big deal out of the whole arrogance thing becuase it is misleading and against the spirit of the site. i don't pretend to be an expert in making videos, and have seen very few people that really could make such a claim honestly (and who, inevitably, don't). most of are amatuers, many of us are inexperienced, and all of us have a lot of room to grow - so it is best to both see and present ourselves in that manner.
as to what i've said in the review, you have to consider the competition and the fact that there is more to be gained by pointing out a video's weak points than concentrating exclusively on its strengths. i have seen things here that have are absolutely incredable, and things that are absolutely terrible (which i won't even bother to op in the first place). everything else i've encountered (including my own videos, if you want to see for yourself what i mean you can watch one or two of them or read the reviews others have left for me - i've made them all public) has had a lot of room for growth and several points that could have been cleaned up. i personally am happier to recieve a thoughtful bad review than a thoughtless review (good or bad) because it gives me valuable advice for future reference. furthermore, if you read the entire review, it's not all bad, albiet i admit that some of the phrasing is probably biased by the persona you've presented here. if you look around the forums a bit more you'd see that i generally am pretty involved and appreciated as a critic, and that most participants handle themselves in a manner very different from your own. if you want to get respect, it is best to present yourself in a respectable manner.

yup yup thx for the OP again and stuff...yeah i think when ppl critisize on OPs it helps the maker improve more...but anyway if u OP my kenshin vid i would be really grateful cuz its probably my best work. unlike my naruto vid there was just some carelessness in it which is unfortunate. hmm but may i add my MR. FARTMUFFIN mix is quite good...but since it has more than one anime in that vid, u cant just say i threw random clips together cuz i actually worked hard on that vid.

review posted. and yes, this one was considerably better than the last - it did look like some effort went into the editing (though perhaps a little more effort should have gone into locating clean source, that's the only major gripe i had with this one).
you can log into the forums with the same username and password as you use for the main site. the reason why it asks you again is that they are driven by two different database applications, and that - speaking as someone who's done some database application development for about a year at my office - it is neither practical nor generally wise to communicate with and trust another application with regards to whether a user is logged in or to whether that user is authentic or not. in addition, the forum is powered by a third-party app, so i doubt phade could change it's behavior with regards to user authentication, even if he wanted to.

oh also u said in ur OP of my "wake up kenshin" vid that there was too much flashing...well have you ever actually watched that part of rurouni kenshin? when kenshin fights shishio? in that fight it actually flashes a lot. i didnt alter the source at all actually...i dont even know how to make the video flash in premiere (but i bet if i messed around i could find out)
