Hi I have a video that is not don't yet. It is to the end of the song but I need feedback for tweaking it. Please watch it and just tell me areas to fix. Thank you. http://www.ooshna.com/avi/AnimorphAlphaLow.zip It is 30mb

Not a problem.

Okay, here goes.

Now keep in mind that I hate this kind of music, but I will try to be as impartial as I can.

By the way. What anime is that?

Anyhoo.

00:02- Nice hit. Just after that however there is a short series of beats you didn't do anything with. May I sugesst an invert or brightness increase. Ooooo. Extract would look really cool with this cause the footage is so dark.

00:05- Nice hit.

00:09- Nice hit

00:11- Nice hit (The sword swipe)

00:12- Very nice hit (Sword clash)

00:15- Nice way to bring in the main part of the song.

00:22- Very nice hit (Even though the screaming voice grates on my nerves ^_~)

00:24 to 01:05 - This section doesn't seem to be synched to much of anything. I think you should use the voice for your hits as it's the main melody of the song.

01:08- Very nice string of sequential hits.

01:14- This clip goes on for way too long. It slows down the whole vid.

01:15 to 02:06- Another long section where there aren't many hits. The slower part is kinda forgivable, but the rest is to fast to not do something on the lyrical beat.

02:08- Nice intro to the pickup in the music.

02:10- I LOVE the hits here with the explosions.

02:11- Too much of this mountain. It breaks up the flow.

02:16 to 02:20- Very nice section of hits.

02:27- Nice hit (The light flash)

02:30- Good hit

After this point it looses it's momentum and there are very few hits.

It's a good start, but defanitly could use some tweaking.

My review:

First off I'll tell you that I don't like your vid. With reason though. I'm one of those people that like every beat/drumroll/guitar solo/ext. to have a cut/fade/effect. It keeps me interested. But your video is ok. In my books it a 3 on the star scale.

Originality: 7
I don't watch many Ninja Scroll vids only because I didn't like the movie all that much. But there are alot of them. I have never heard this song before or the style. Its kinda like gothic and death metal. Sounded pretty cool and I've never heard it before.

Action/Editing: 6
Many parts throughout your vid seemed to lack timing and meaning. though some were great and perfect (2:30 where the guy is hanging and getting shocked). It fit well with the screaming and the syncage. parts that need help are the begginning. If you could emphasize the beats more, like white flash/partial white flash. Not just the begginning but other parts as well. Parts with fast drum beats. Take out the snair and listen to it. Try syncing black flashes to them. Don't use it all the way through, but just at certain parts. Some scenes seemed to slow the vid down. Like they need somethnig else there to help them out, and didn't seem to convey what the music is saying. If the music was to start getting really hard, use clips of fights, and stuff that have alot of action. Use fast cuts and effects. Try not to fade . While on the other hand fading is good when the music starts to slow down and needs to mellow out a bit.

In my opinion this vid is average to me. You did put thought into the choice of scenes, and effort into the editing. But if you were to put more time into it, alot more... look better... it will (yoda ha ha). You have a nice base here. Try to work on you timing and the overall apearance.

Well I made this in 3 hours at 4 in the morning. I had the basic idea down and ran with it. Thats why I asked for opintions to tweak it to hell and back. I will take all of your suggestions and fix this. Thank you both for the time you put into your ops.

Glad you asked the bands name is P.T. Grimm they are a local band from NJ that to the best of my knowledge play shows in NJ and NY. They used to tour and play with MSI all the time (thats how I heard of them) http://www.ptgrimm.com

thanks, and btw: good vid but some of the syncing is a bit out, like when tessai grabs Jubei's head and when he evntually dies and nearly kills Jubei in the process
