WIP - Too many effects?

Post by DoomKitty » Mon May 07, 2007 6:22 pm

First 40 seconds or so of my latest AMV:

Animes used: (Studio 4C animes - Noiseman Sound Insect, Digital Juice, etc...)
Music: "I Don't Like The Drugs But The Drugs Like Me" - Marilyn Manson

I think I used too many effects... need tips on what can make it better .__.;

no major complaints. The effects used fit well, and weren't overly intrusive either, so that's fine. I just hope the rest of the vid isn't as repetitive-- but if that's what you are going for [I'm actually quite fond of repetition if it's used well] some zooming or panning could do some justice. Intro-thingy was pretty cool.

If you are aware or not, just remember to compress your audio for the final thing so you can add more bitrate to the video portion.

well yeah. The guitarist jumps up and down like eight times essentially without changing. But go with it though-- just make it more dynamic; I'm fond of repetition when the scene is the same, but something else is altered. I'm not sure what program you use, but could you zoom in on the guitar, then his face..then the drummer... the lights... each time the riff hits. Maybe make color alterations. [that might work well for the bird thing... or is it a feather...]. Or just leave it... which will emphasize the music more... but if you do that, you've got to be in complete control over the next scene, otherwise the viewers won't realize that you meant to emphasize the music.
/two cents :D
