I had an argument with a friend about my AMV. please help

I am currently creating an amv in the same style as AMV Hell, using a selection of my favorite Anime and Music, with comedy being the desired effect. However, my friend thinks that it is a bad idea on my part to do something like that because it is "ripping Off" the style of AMV Hell, and that everyone will "claim that it is a mockery"

However, I dont think so becasue i am using different shows, different clips, different music, in many cases a different type of humor and overall, AMV Hell was a multi editor project wheras this one is a single editor project.

Should i continue with it? or should i listen to my friend and stop becasue of what the online community might think?

now weather or not the audience is "burnt out" on it is a whole other thing... also you should know that AMV Hell 4 is in the works

yeah i know that amv hell 4 is in the works. i submitted a clip the other day.

err... burnt out? i guess that it could be a potential problem, but im sure that at least some people will find it entertaining. the dozen or so clips that i have so far had most of my friends burst out laughing when they watched them, so i think that it may have potential.
