Re: Best No-Effects Video
Apparently I don't know what effects are. Because in my opinion, all the videos that had absolutely no effects didn't make it to the finals. I feel that the only effects that should be excluded are "fade to black" and "cross fade". But even (the one with the title that takes up 3 lines of text) has a whole bunch of camera shakes, color and hue changes, and some stuff that I can't quite figure out.
I am a bit surprised that "This is Halloween" actually doesn't have as many effects as I thought. After re-watching it, I realized that the only effects that it had were two or three very short and very discrete overlays.
I really thought that Number One had this category in the bag. Oh well. But anyway, I guess that in the end, I'll pick "This is Halloween" simply because it has the bare minimum of effects and because Its scene selection made me originally think that It had used more effects than it did.

Yeah I also thought this why. For me this can be one of the most annoying categories in the vcas. I remember that Warheart's Endless Sky video came in to the finals or semis and it has some fucking fractal noise right in your face.kireblue wrote: I really thought that Number One had this category in the bag.

Re: Best No-Effects Video
Isn't it time to remove this category? Any good video has some kind of effects nowadays.

That's isn't necessarily true... if you check the finalists, there are good vids in there.Lirinis wrote:Isn't it time to remove this category? Any good video has some kind of effects nowadays.
