Importing .avi into vegas no video, need list of options ;)

Post by Elkai » Tue Jul 31, 2007 9:37 pm

I need to get my avi files into vegas but i dont get any video when i do this. I have been told this could be 2 things, one being the codec of the avi file, two i dont have enough ram for import the file. I dont think it is the ram o.O. Can anyone tell me a good program to perhaps convert my avi files to something more acceptable into vegas. Sorry if this thread is just mentioned elsewhere. Also i wont be able to reply for a week lol so leave your idea's ;)

Byes~

.. if its just an AVI then VirtualDub should convert it for you. Simply load the Video and press F7 -- it will drop the Video to a RAW file and Vegas can take it from there. 8-)

run it through vdub and save as Lagarith if youre going to edit in Vegas

but lagarith uses a lot of file space... not as much as huffyuv or uncompressed which is what the other compressions/formats i would suggest
