Sony Vegas Media Manager Help

Post by drybananna » Mon Aug 06, 2007 10:33 am

My Media Manager for Vegas doesn't work for some odd reason. It says "The MSSQL$SONY:MEDIAMGR Service Does Not Exsist or The Current Account Does Not Have Enough Privilege To Manage It.." or something.

Then it says "An Error Has Occurred With The Media Manager, The Feature Will Be Unavailible. Media Manager Initialization Failed." It has something to do with the SQL (.. I think) w/e the hell that is. Please help! T-T

Btw, what exactly is the Media Manager? @_@
Im sorta a noob at this, help appreciated! T_T
Thanks in advance.

if you can continue to edit without it then don't stress it

what it sounds like is that you are not on the administrator's account therefore you don't have access to all of the media files on your computer therefore the media manager cannot run properly.

The media manager pretty much just catalogs all of the media files on your computer, i know some people who turn it off when they use vegas because it tends to slow down opening and closing of the program

Yeah, I find it useless and annoying - Vegas boots up MUCH quicker if you turn it off. Just go to the Preferences and turn it off...it's one of those checkboxes in the long list under the "General" tab. You should stop getting the error message because Vegas will stop trying to load it up.
