Black Preview Screen in Sony Vegas Pro 8

okay.......this is the problem
today, when i first turned on vegas, it worked fine
then i cut a clip into and tried to play it, the school turned blank...........
if anyone can help please do!

my bad, on the top post, where it says "school" should be screen >.<

Well what do you use? but anything other than avi. mostlywill look crappy, visually

1) click the banner.
2) AVI is a container - a bunch of different and certainly not equal video formats can go inside it.
