I am currently using Sony Vegas 8.0 trial version.
I was working on my amv this morning and everything went smooth, then took a break and came back to it tonight. After it started up, I got an error message saying "Failed to register with windows terminal services". The footage disappeared and I could only see the audio clips. Since the computer had been on all day I tried turning it off and on again, but that didn't help.
the only thing I can think of that might have altered the project in any way could be that I downloaded some mp4 converters while running the program.
I'm not quite sure what happened, so can anyone help?

Re: Sony Vegas error message
Hm... well, I've downloaded converters while using SV, and nothings happened, so I don't think its that. But I did have that problem once. I beleive that it has to do with the Terminal services on your computer(as in its turned off). Not sure though, thats what was wrong with mine.
You might also want to see if the "Terminal Services" is turned on.
Start menu/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services/Terminal Services.
If the Startup type value is Disabled, double-click the value to display the Properties window.
In the Properties window, choose Manual from the Startup type drop-down list and click ok.
In the Services window, right-click Terminal Services and choose Start from the shortcut menu.
If that doesn't work...
Go to:
start menu/control panel/administrative tools/event viewer/application
It SHOULD tell you what components aren't working correctly/that crash.
Hope that helps somehow...

Re: Sony Vegas error message
Actually, about three days before you posted that reply, my dad reimaged the computer and re-installed Vegas, and everything was back to normal.
However, thanks anyway, because if I were to have the same problem again, your reply will be useful.
