Say if I want to change something white to black. Is there an effect for that?
The closest I've seen is color corrector which doesn't cooperate with me 90% of the time, and I can't seem to hit the extremes like black and white with it.
So anyone know if this is possible in Vegas?
Is there any color replacement in Vegas?

Re: Is there any color replacement in Vegas?
besides inverting the colors .. black becomes white, yes.
You pick the color(s) and change the "tint" setting of "it" or of everything.
before we continue, give us an idea of what you're trying to accomplish:
1) something done over 15 seconds
2) something done in under 1/5 of a second
3) changing someones face from pale-pink to beet-red embarrassment
.. the more info the better

Alright I suppose yyou do need more detail.
Alright I'm looking to accomplish two things mainly.
Changing colors like Red, Blue, and Green in a picture to Black. Not necessarily all of those colors at once, but any one at a given time. The duration is slightly over 5 seconds.
And changing something off-white with varying degrees of highlight an shadow to pure black.
It's mainly dealing with a picture that I masked out of a frame. That has some things in it I would like to change to give it a different color.
I'm also not trying to make the whole thing Black and White, otherwise I would have used the effect for it.

Re: Is there any color replacement in Vegas?
Try using Chroma Keyer. Have the clip on a layer above a black solid from Media Generators, and key out the color(s) you want removed. Sometimes you'd want to use a combination of masking and Chroma Keyer if you aren't getting the results you want, but see it should work in most cases.
Other than that I'd say Color Corrector (secondary) but if that isn't working for you, I'm afraid you'd have to mask it out and then change the color.

Chroma Keyer works to a certain extent.
But unfortunately it looks like I'll have to mask it out anyway. Thanks for the help though.
