What kind of audio files can be used in Vegas?

what kind? about everything.
what should you use? umcompressed wav

Well, I'm trying to use an MP3 file, but when I import it and put it in the video, there's no sound. Like it's on mute.

And it's not on mute, because I checked my volume and everything.
Feet on the ground and head in the clouds.

i'm not very fimiliar with vegas, other than i've screwed around in it a couple of times, but try a wav.
a mp3 should at least play though. see if theres an audio checkbox

What do you mean by "audio checkbox"?

I'm new to Vegas, so dont' really know what's going on or where anything is.

Or WHAT anything is, actually.

Hey I like this tutorial but I got a problem. When I want to open a file in the VirtualDubMod i get this message:

[!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
video.

Somebody who can help???

I think that means you don't have the Xvid codec installed.
