that is the source code...which doesn't do you a lot of good unless you know how to compile it (and have a compiler)

xvid executable

From my little experience there are two ways.If they are wrong, experienced people, please share your knowledge even though we're are pushing your patience to the limit. :D
Anyway, either insert in a separate video track a white/black image and synch it with the point of the vid you want to flash.Don't forget, limit the duration of the image to minimum.Basically, that's what a person above said...correct me if I am wrong

As for other way, yesterday,I tried using a very quick soft flash transition to make a flash and it worked.

Hey Ladymercury,

Your tut really helped me with Vegas AMV basics. Do you think you could teach us about the "create your own efects" feature? If you know what I mean...

Importing Video Clips

Post by Byakugan_Neji » Fri Nov 03, 2006 6:16 pm

Hey, just to start off I'm REALLY new at this but have figured out how to do alot from woring on home videos i imported of my camcorder but I can't figure out how to import the anime clips off of the dvd I have. Its store bought and everything but when I click on File>Import>Media>My computer>DVD Drive>Video_TS I find the video files but when i click import it says they can not be opened because it is an unsupported format. Any ideas on how to fix that? Thx.

Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides will tell you everything that you need to know about footage prep
it's a long read, but it helps the most if you read it all

don't use fansubs, simple as that.

divx/xvid encoded footage (commonly used for fansubs) is not meant for editing

if you search through the forums you will find an abundance of people asking the same thing, the solution (besides using dvd footage) is to re-encode your footage (preferably with a lossless codec like Lagarith)

BEWARE! lossless means relatively large files, you should take small clips and re-encode those (as opposed to entire episodes)

refer to Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides (linked in my previous post) for further questions
