Question on Effect (Sony Vegas 6.0)

Post by Sora_Sasuke » Thu Mar 29, 2007 6:56 am

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't find out how to do this anywhere.

Do you know to do the black bar effect that goes up and down, or any direction to like match the beat. This is for Sony Vegas 6.0 by the way.

Thanks for the help.

cookie cutter maybe?

Or draw a line in mspaint and save it as a png, (transparent background). Import it into vegas and mess with the keyframe animation :)

I'll explain it for photoshop:

- Open a new document whatever size you desire and set it to transparent
- Get the marquee tool and draw out where you want the ''black line'' to go then right click and fill with black. Press ctrl+d to deselect.
- Now go file>save as and make sure it's a .png otherwise it won't havea transparent background.

Sorry for the poor explanation earlier ^^

you can import .psd files into vegas, so they can save it as that or a .gif with a transparent background as well as .png...

or they can make the graphic to the size they want and not have to worry about transparencies at all... then just use the pan/crop feature in vegas to set the image where they want it to move:

Ah, sorry I was going to type more, but I couldn't find an edit button, and I didn't want to double post, sorry.

Here's a video

At about 12 seconds, something like that. That effects are cool.

Hm, and thanks for your help, I never knew you could use PSD files. :]

Thank you all.

thats just the cookie cutter... cut your video on the beats and change the position of the cookie cutter by moving the gold square (click and drag) to different places on the larger white square..

and if you want to get really "fancy" you can add a border:
