Since this is the Idiots guide to Vegas, this is the perfect place to ask my idiot of a question.

I just bumped something while I was trying to drag and shorten clips on the time line and now I have this annoying little box alway around my curser arrow and it won't let me shorten/lengthen clips like normal. I think I bumped the alt key with something that made this pop dotted square icon show up on my curser. I can't seem to figure out how to get it back to normal.

Anybody know what this is and how to get it back to normal?

see along your toolbar?the bar with the redo and undo button, there should be a black I with a squiggly blue line called the normal edit tool, make sure that's selected.or press CTRL-D and see if that works.I think you have the envelope edit tool selected which is next to it :)

That slash was in the first season intro to Naruto. He just did a frame-by-frame mask to get Sasuke on the outside of the slash.

And as for JazzyDJ's question, press the 'D' key to switch between the different cursors. (There are 4 cursors; they can all be seen and selected in the tool bar.)
... yea ...

you can always try something similar and just mask it yourself.

Noob question: How can I slow down the transitions? They're going pretty fast from default...
