It's a custom mask that person created frame by frame. It's also quite shoddy looking...so try to make something that looks better than that. >_>

When you mask there is an option on the left hand side of the window that says feather. So just adjust the settings

ok slight problem lol(again)

when I add a white flash(solid white media generator) it flashes all right but the clip the white flash is supposed to cover,has got its edges showing :\,it doesnt happen with the fade through white transition,but I cant use that cause the flash is too short for a transition.

any help?

you have the wrong project settings.
