Sony Vegas Problem

Post by Hitotsumami » Sat Jan 19, 2008 7:27 pm

I'm having a small problem with Sony Vegas.

I've imported a few video clips to use. I clicked on a clip while it was still in the Project Media area and pressed play to preview it inside the preview screen. It worked smoothly.

Then I dragged and dropped the clip onto the timeline. I pressed play to view the clip on the time line and it was extremely choppy. I gave the clip a few seconds to load, but it still played choppy.

I've used Vegas before and haven't expierienced any problems like this before. Help?
If I die, then that's that.

a few questions:
are you using dvd footage? (if so, what series)
what codec did you use to encode your files? (if you don't know, get GSpot from my sig)

do you have any other programs running while you're trying to use Vegas?
computer specs may help as well (cpu and ram are the most helpful)

Put your preview screen on "draft" and keep playing that small part over and over..and over and over again..till its not choppy anymore...

Or just work with LQ midvid jpeg files and even get any bit of a lagg (you should be exchaning these files with the HQ's afterwarts though..because I am sure you dont want That fucking low quality ^^)
