Media Offline - Song Vegas error, need help

Post by ZhaneX » Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:45 am

A little while ago, all the video files I use to make AMVs stopped working in Sony Vegas. The audio appears, but I don't get any video. The files still work just fine in video players, but they don't work in Vegas for editing.
All the files are .AVIs
Anybody know how to fix this?

man, it's been a long time since anyone asked this (had to go back to page 6)

(glorious flashing banner is also a link)

Lossless codecs are the way to go, but end up in hueg liek xbox files. Making clips with VirtualDub/Mod is a way to get around this

then go to file->save

use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

Oh, okay. Um...new question then. Where do I get this Virtualdub mod, and how do I use it?

Here,or in the AMVApp, import video, and follow the directions Kariudo provided.

Yeah, now I've got a new problem. I just found out it's not just Vegas. The files don't work in any editing software. I can still watch them, but I can't edit them for AMVs. I found out when I tried to open the files in Windows movie maker.

Did you even bother following the directions Kariudo posted?

Actually, I fixed the problem. Turns out that all the spare files I had deleted had caused some kind of problem. The moment I emptied my Recycling Bin, problem fixed.
