.. once you've eliminated all the Gundam rip-off's then your left with Harlock Saga, Dai Guard, Blue Gender, the walking hammers in Pink Floyds - The Wall. At sea, we have Evangelion, MahoroMatic ... and In Space we have Stratos4, VanDread ( border-line Gundam ) ... I guess it all depends on what kind of war you are looking for.

Oh crap... the walking hammers would do wonders. War at sea, land and sky is really all I'm looking for though. Mostly modern day technology.

Thanx for all the help guys. I really appreciate it. I still need to check most of those sources out though since I haven't heard of most of them. Keep ehm comin though, cuz most of the scenes I'm gonna use are gonna be very short clips, and its gonna be ALOT of action goin on.

Some Gundam animes have scenes that aren't *always* using gundams. I remember vividly in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz where Duo and Heero were going at it with a bunch of soldiers. Had grenades, machine guns, etc.

Area 88 has jet combat. Not much on the ground though. In episode 8 a guy gets shot in the leg by a sniper.

Gallery Fake. Don't remember the exact episode, sorry, but it takes place in Vietnam, and there are some backflashes of the war, soldiers, shooting, dying, etc.
