The End of Our Childhood: for Former Cartoon Network Junkies
It's over. Toonami's over. I noticed they hadn't been on for a few weeks and I thought CN had just put Toonami on the shelf because it was excited over its new batch of crappy movies. That's not the case. Toonami is over for good now.
I'd long grown out of most of their lineup, seeing as the only anime they featured anymore was Naruto (Shamefully I admit that I'm a junkie) but wow. Toonami was the medium that introduced me to anime. It was so exciting back in the days when it felt like the Cartoon Network execs actually gave a crap about giving anime a chance. Now with this and Adult Swim slaying their "action" Saturdays, tv is going to suck.
I'm not the only one deeply saddened by the death of Toonami am I? Come sob dramatically with me, fellow (former) Cartoon Network junkies.

Watching anime on tv is really like watching ANYthing on tv.
Non anime shows on tv suck, I am not surprised that anime on tv sucks. But what is always odd, is that people actually enjoy watching anime on tv in the first place.
Bye Toonami, never watched ya, won't miss ya.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

You really have to stop speaking only from YOUR opinion. Or at least use some common sense before you post. You do realize that without anime airing on TV, it wouldn't have been popular in the first place, right? Toonami introduced lots of people into anime, including a portion of people on this site.Sukunai wrote:Watching anime on tv is really like watching ANYthing on tv.

And fuck, just because YOU don't enjoy anything on TV doesn't mean others don't. And just because your too biased to look into anything that's not anime doesn't mean it sucks.

Wow.
I won't really miss Toonami, but I will acknowledge that I am one of it's leeching spawns.
Toonami got my started on anime, like others have said, before I knew what anime was. Moltar was the badass of the nineties, like Chuck Norris, but with a giant cannon that would shoot anime into the sky(never understood that....>_>)
I appreciate who you were, Toonami, and though I don't give a shit for tom2-3, and lil tom was definitely part of my good experience, the elitist bastards down at the org taught me that you're for t3h no0bz, so I disowned you.
=D
I did really like the anime I watched on Toonami, but if I could bring it back, I wouldn't.

Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.
There's nothing to worry about.
