Gundam Wing

Post by Heero_in_my_heart » Mon Nov 25, 2002 5:47 pm

I've been watching Gundam Wing for awhile, and I love the show, but today someone told me that some of the Gundam Wing pilots are gay, is this true?

The correct answer is
Yes & No
Why? There's two reasons
The creators of the show deliberately gave the Wing boys vague sexual preferences.
One reason was because they felt this would give them a good pull with getting the female demographic watching. This paid off (don't believe me? Go to Fanfiction.net and check out there Gundam Wing section)
The other reason was because of their director of choice. He opted to leave their sexualities vague and not feature solid relationships because he doubted his own ability to pull them off.

And now you know

Are the Wing boys gay?
That's for you to decide...

I'd say this is just your opinion in the end. You'll have to make this decision. For me it's how we interpret the characters and the way they live. I don't think they are, but others may believe so. In the end, you'll probably be happier with what you choose, and not what everyone else tells you.

The best anime series are always the ones that manage to be cool despite massive homosexual overtones. Gundam Wing is the only Gundam series I really got into. I think I might have liked 0080 if I saw it uncut though. Other examples of this trend, Berserk, and so far X the series(only seen the first DVD, but its got my attention despite the fact I already know everything that happens from watching the movie.)

I would exclude Duo, and Relena wouldn't let Heero be gay

They may or may not be. I believe they aren't, though. I think they are just secure with their manhoods, unlike some people...
