Looking for military anime, spec. w/ Jets

Just re-watching Cowboy Bebop clip-hunting and there are several episodes with dog-fights with very futuristic military vehicles, some space shuttle scenes, and The Movie has a range of propeller airplanes - even bi-wings. No jets there though - unless you count Jet himself.

Full Metal Panic should suit your needs. Not too much jets, but there are some.

I'd say area 88 is your best bet. Specifically the 80's ova. I haven't seen all or the 2004 series so i can't tell you if it's as good but I'd say they're both worth a viewing.

Area 88 and Yukikaze looks promising, also found two more myself called Sky Crawlers and 801 airbats. When I said Macross I meant I knew all the series , thanks for the help guys, I'll look into Cowboy Bebop but I was primarily looking for a series focused on air combat.

DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF MY TOP 10 ANIMES, but the first episode is a huge arial battle so you won't have to follow it for long...(trust me, you WILL get confused, irritated and disappointed)
