I never thought that I would start watching anime confusing it with cartoons until I was recommended to watch Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away. It let me forgot about reality. It seems that this masterpiece really takes you away to some fantastic world of wonders.

Yeah it was a decent decade for movies. On one hand we lost Ghibli AND Satoshi Kon, which was a brutal one-two punch. But on the other hand we saw the rise (and hopefully not fall, please don't say fall) of KyoAni, and Shinkai Makoto cannibalized a lot of the ghibli crew and made some great stuff. My top 10 movies would be:

1. Silent Voice
2-4. Kizumonogatari 1-3
5. Your Name
6. Wolf Children
7. The Tale of Princess Kaguya (kills me that it's the first Ghibli on my list)
8. Liz and the Blue Bird
9. Weathering with You
10. Arietty
11. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms
12. (gonna keep going because Kizu 1-3 is such a copout) I want to eat your pancreas
