Bootlegs, definitly.

There are no "preregion coded" DVDs. It's either Regions 1-6 or a Region 0 (Region Free/Bootleg) disk.

In correct. Region codes were brought about arround '97-98 (not sure the exact year.) Proior to that all DVD's were playable on all players. I mean jebus people, how long have you been on the DVD sceen?

*urge to kill rising* I think I would know. I owned my first DVD ROM back in '96. It was "Generation 2" and cost me butt loads of money. Keep arguing.

Yes, but what you've got has 26 episodes crammed onto 3 DVDs.

Putting all the legal issues aside, that's between 6 and 7 episodes per disc. You've got a lot more compression to deal with, so less quality.
i dont know what copies you got .. but the dvd's i got for hellsing and trigun look just as sharp and crisp as my evangelon and (dont yell at me for this) DBZ dvd's. and as one poster said .. each dvd still had a room for a few extra features and menus and ish. all i gotta say is dont knock it till you tried it.
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

where did the post counts go? Now there is equality and who wants that?

Almost all of DVD's I own are bootleg and I love them. I don't watch extras and things and usually I only want the dub so why should I pay trice the price and waait twice as long for postage? Rarely have I had a problem with subtitles that I can't handle and the quality has always been perfect, it takes for alot of compression for me to notice any drop in quality.

no, no it wasn't.

Wolfwood, you were really young then. When you're that young you only notice things that are big deals or everywhere. DVDs had been out but they wern't mass produced, ya know like every movie didn't have one. It was very limited, and player were really expensive! SHIAT!

Gladiator came out on dvd the same time it was out for rental on VHS, ever since then pretty much every movie that comes out has had both, so check the gladiater dates. That's when it went main stream and got REALLY big.

And about those bootlegs who ever bought (don't feel like going back to page one to look). I know a site that sells legit copies for even less. If your intrested in making AMVs only you should buy from them. The catch is they're in japonese only, subbtitles in chinese and english I believe though, for most of them. They do have some american domestic dvds and they are cheaper than they normaly are else where, but not by much. It's not like you're gunna find somehting 50% off, maybe a good solid 15 or 20 though. Depends on the DVDs and what they have on them (movie, box set, episodes, that sort of thing ect.)

Yeah, I know about those videos. I already started to sell those here in California. Especially to people who still buy the VHS copies of anime in the swapmeet (layman temr: flea market). $15 for three episodes of Pokemon. HA, I bought 12 volumes for a dollar each at a 99 cent store for my little nieces, and they are the real thing. The only thing a person has to do is shop around instead of just buying stuff at random.
