yeah I read about dvds (and 3d ;-p) back in '95 in a computer mag (Boot ;-p ahhh the good ole days)... I remember cuz they were all excited over the ViRGE chips and that was '95 deffinitely ;-p
anyway I didn't notice DVDs till the 21st century (dvd drives in 99)! it took em a LONG time to be mainstream, good thing 3d gfx didn't take that long.
don't know what Pilkington's smokin lol but I guess it's possible to have an SVCD... or if consumer players came way before DVD drives.

Did I say SVCD? Do I stutter? No I purchased a “Sony DVD-ROM” from the bookstore at Georgia Tech University. And I was incorrect it was December 1997 not ‘96. I have the receipt right here in front of me. Don't believe me that's your problem but to de research and you’ll find that all your claims are complete and udder bullshit. Besides, just because YOU didn't notice doesn't mean that they didn't exist.

Still I don't remember DVDs available but maybe they were... the SVCD thing was just a suggestion, I never doubted you.Mr Pilkington wrote:Knowname wrote:anyway I didn't notice DVDs till the 21st century (dvd drives in 99)! it took em a LONG time to be mainstream, good thing 3d gfx didn't take that long.
