Japanese often misplace the L with R. The characters name is intended to be Alucard they just have trouble saying it. Just like In romanji Lina inverse is Rina Inabasu.Arucard_Hellsing^_^ wrote:Well alucard is definently not as good as Arucard sounds and no i didnt watch Fansub! nicholas is right there is no "L" sound in the japanese language So insteaad of bitching on how i spell the damn name as long as u know who im talking about the is'nt that much of a fucking problem good god@_@

I have studied Japanese as Hobby for one year now, my native language is spanish, and so to say I'm much more qualified to talk about japanese phonetics and idiomatic expressions. In both english and spanish there's 2 Rs, The Rrrr R and the R R, Japanese only have the soft R and if you use the "Hard" R you're considered yakuza (Jap mafia)Garylisk wrote:There's no R sound in Japanese either. Allow me to refer to a big topic about this on another forum, which started out as a question on Why Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki were pronounced the way they were (In Tenchi).

Read that before you start spouting your theory on Japanese as fact, or better yet, why not try studying Japanese beyond what you figure out by watching subtitled anime, okay?
So as they say, that is so, or so is that?!
