Japanese often misplace the L with R. The characters name is intended to be Alucard they just have trouble saying it. Just like In romanji Lina inverse is Rina Inabasu.

I have studied Japanese as Hobby for one year now, my native language is spanish, and so to say I'm much more qualified to talk about japanese phonetics and idiomatic expressions. In both english and spanish there's 2 Rs, The Rrrr R and the R R, Japanese only have the soft R and if you use the "Hard" R you're considered yakuza (Jap mafia)

So as they say, that is so, or so is that?!

I think that it is spelled Alcard in english though!!! :D
