I don't know. When I was in Jr. High and High School, I was terribly moved by moments of tragedy.
Sure, I could sit in an action movie and see people get mowed down by the dozen and have a good time...
but then I could see a dramatic film about personal tragedy and feel the ache in me for the rest of the day.
If people who are teenaged now can watch a film like "Schindler's List" or "Grave of the Fireflies" or even a lighter film like "Empire of the Sun" and are completely unmoved, then there is a SERIOUS problem with the country.
Fortunately, I know many who have seen the movie (and have even read here about many) who have seen these films and were driven to tears. A lot of people of teen age can be moved by films that deal with emotional topics. They are able to empathise with the people in these films, because these stories are important to consider when looking at world events.
Some people just have more concern about their fellow man, even at a young age then some do even in their 60's.
