You really need to look into doing that, even though NGE, in my opinion, had a worse ending than EOE, simply because of its ambiguous nature, but it doesn't lend anything else to my view of Gendo's intentions. While I agree that there was his want to reunite with Yui, there were several lines in the series that really made Gendo come off as a man against God. But there was so much insano confusion throughout that entire series. I still have trouble making sense of my thoughts about it. I probably need to go back and watch it again, even though it was only a month or so ago...

Because this is the first time I've heard of it, and with Spirited Away and KoHD airing in theaters, it didn't sound TOO unlikely that they would move to live-action remakes. At least not to me.

This isn't the first time animation from Japan has been in theaters though. Mononoke Hime, Metropolis, Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell, Akira and others have all enjoyed theatrical releases.

Since the 80's Japanese animation has always been popular in the US, its just a matter of whether you knew it was or not ^_^

Dude... I knew that Mononoke was a theatrical release but I had no idea that all those others were theatrical releases  I suppose you could add Kimba the White Lion to that list. Lousy Disney ripping from anime *shakes fist* and you got what you deserved!!
