Forgot to mention AT Fields. As you may know, AT fields stand for "Absolute Terror" Field. In the movie, after third impact our AT fields disappear and hence we become "goo." If you think about it, the name implies it's exact purpose. The AT field protects you from other humans. I believe Rei or Kaoru mentions that the AT field protects that which should never been attacked/penetrated. However, at the same time, this is what keeps us apart (Hedgehog's Dilemna). The breakdown of the AT field causes us to be "one" and well..happy (in a false sense).

My understanding is that Shinji accepts this and returns with the knowledge. I'd assume with this knowledge, you would still have an AT field (since it retains his physical form), but I'm guessing the knowledge of this is sufficient to make progress. It's debateable that him returning is the true "evolutionary"/instrumentality step since he does come back better and with new knowledge. Perhaps instrumentality is just a test...hmm? (I just came up with that btw :-P)

but you don't need the kabalah to realize what the AT field stuff was about.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Did I imply that? If so, sorry...I don't think I've replied to the Kabalah sub-thread in this thread...in any case sorry.

dwchang you have some good points, and now that i think about it there are very little questions left at the end, i guess you just gota re-watch it again each time learning some thing new and making the story more hole.

Thanx! Yeah I've watched the movie quite a few times (usually showing a friend who's interested in anime Esca, Eva and Kenshin) and after awhile you just start seeing things. I also did a little bit of "research" by looking for info (the Red Cross Book comes to mind, the official Gainax book given out at the movie) and discussions (like this one). I'm the type of person who generally doesn't like *not* knowing, hence the motivation.

Not to say that I'm right, but Eva, to *me*, seems to make sense and therefore I'm happy. I guess that really means I'm F'ed up.

I want to see what happens besides EoE. I want the episodes from Eva-R to come to life and can see what all the new charaters look like and the Evas and what kind of trouble SHinji gets into... ME WANT MORE ACTION (other than EoE) I think that if Eva did inclued the things from Eva-R, the series would probably be more powerful and more impactful than it has ever been...

That's just my 2 cents, but still, I want Eva-R episodes to come to life

With the way people find out what is going on, I don't think an entire eva OVa would slip by.

I like Episodes 25 & 26, and End of Eva. Since all the events happened on one coherent storyline, you don't have to choose which one is better, or more correct. Just enjoy them both, if you can. If you have a problem with something, okay, that's fine too. But I thought both the movie and the last two episodes were excellent pieces of cinematic art. And we finally got to see Asuka kick some ass...
