Robert's Anime Corner Store has it for $159, if you'd rather not buy something off ebay. They're a good, reliable store.
And I'd definitely recommend buying it rather than downloading it, because then you can watch it over and over without having to have it taking up space on your hard drive. You can also choose whether you watch it dubbed or subbed. And then you can make high-quality AMVs with them too.
The dub of Trigun wasn't too bad. It wasn't great, either. It was pretty much just mediocre. I prefer the sub myself.

i always hated subs just cuz the voices never seem to fit. Dubs always just seem right to me even when like everyone else says they suck i never understood why anyone would rather listen to high pitched guys play the roles of guys who should have deep voices --;; but yeah i did find it for $75 on ebay. and i really like the voices, expecially Legato's and Vash's. o.O but yeah like i said i cant stand the japanese voice actor people, they just annoy the hell outta me. I mean noone likes the dub of evangelion, expecially not Shinji. But i think the voice was PERFECT. --;;

oppinions are like ass holes, every ones go one, and i'm no different. I started hating dubs because to me the voices jstu seemed wrong. you on the other hand like dubs becuase those voices seem to fit better in yoru mind. oh, and i hated shinji's voice, but i only saw episodes 3 and 4 in english ... so i don't know what he sounds like in the rest of the series ... but i really don't want to find out.TallonKarrde23 wrote: and i really like the voices, expecially Legato's and Vash's. o.O but yeah like i said i cant stand the japanese voice actor people, they just annoy the hell outta me. what was the line Voltair said ... I may not agree with what you say, but i'll fight to the death for your right to say it?
meh, maybe this sin't the right topic to be talking about freedom of speech ... or myabe it will turn into a dub-flame fest ... who knows ... only time will tell. (but the thread will prpobably die after i post this ... its kinda a rule ... i have to wreck good things ...)

OK no offense, but that was one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard. The voices never seem to fit? Well...like I said in another thread...I don't think you have *any* right what to say "sounds right" since you didn't make or conceptualize the show. I know some people prefer dubs to subs, but to say dubs are the "right" choice is retarded.TallonKarrde23 wrote:i always hated subs just cuz the voices never seem to fit. A japanese staff produced the anime and a japanese creator chose a japanese voice actor because he thought it seemed to fit the role he envisioned. The "correct" voice is the one the creator chooses, not the one you think sounds better.
High-pitched voices doing males who should have deep voices? Yeah because the creator made a HUGE mistake when HE cast the voices right? Who is he to make such a mistake when casting? (that was sarcasm btw). Why don't you take control of the anime production and right this injustice (sarcasm again) since you seem to know better than the creator. Argh!
Oops! That's pretty mean. Basically, don't get me wrong, by no means does this mean you *must* watch anime in Japanese. I'm just saying you should acknowledge which is the "true" vision/voices the creator envisions/hears. I very much dislike hearing fans *tell* me which one is the "right" voice when they didn't create the show and hence the anger.

DEAR GOD NO!!!Propyro wrote:i'm afraid to watch it dubbed ... are the voices any good in the dubbed trigun? And he's right, if you do dumb shit like this, then you get in shit from the mod(s), hypotheticaly. The way i've seen things so far on this forum is that the mods seldom interfere ... but then again i've only been here about two weeks ...
Well, technically, Vash's English VA is actually pretty good. Meryls is ok, Woldwoods seems weird to me somehoiw. But Milly's english VA...
AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!
<<<Massive, Huge, OMFG-Big Trigun Spoiler>>>
After Wolfwood dies, and Milly is crying, the Japanese actress sounds like someone ripped out her heart, tore it apart and force-fed it to her. Her heart-wrenchng sobs made me want to just break down myself. Her English VA... well, lets just say that the woman did an absolutely horrible job of portraying the emotion in the scene, and not dwell on how her incredibly fake-sounding sobbing made me want to gouge out my ear-drums.
Milly's English VA alone is reason enough for me to not want to watch Trigun in dub. Through out the whole series, the woman is just flat and uninteresting, then she completely BOTCHES one of the most moving scenes in the whole series. >_<
Sub all the way. ::pumps fist::
Now, FLCL's dub is rather interesting. It's weird listening to Naota's VA,. because he sounds a bit old to be 12, but Haruko's English VA is interesting. At times she hits it dead on, at others she's a bit off, but not in a bad way, more like she had a very interesting take on the scene. For example, the nurse scene in Ep 2. At the part when Haruko says "Hello there. I'm Haruhara Haruko, age 19. I'm a housekeeper at Ta-kun's house.", in the english language version, she says "Hey there, Haruhara Haruko here. Age 19, splendiferous housekeeper at Ta-kun's house!"Propyro wrote:what i'm kinda curious to hear is a dubbed version of FLCL ... particularly Haruko and maimi's voices
Yep. You read right., She says "Splendiferous". Personally, I think it's interesting.
Haruko's VA is actually really interesting to listen to. It's also funny watching the out-takes in the extras section of discs 1 and 2 hearing the english VAs consistently mess-up "Haruhara Haruko" (as if I could do it right in one sitting myself...).

Im suprised no one has mentioned this, but dont worry about buying Trigun for now cause its gonna be on Adult Swim in like a week or so. And from what I can remember, other than the word shit(which will probably just be replaced with the word Damn like in Bebop) I cant think of one thing theyll need to edit. Also, I liked the dub. I didnt have a problem with Merils voice cause it seemed to fit and I found it more funny than annoying. Also, if all the emotion from the one scene was destroyed, then I dont want to watch the original since it will probably make me cry like a baby. In other words, I found the dub of that scene more than emotional enough.

Yes, he's right. English Vash is voiced by a former Power Ranger. He didn't do too bad a job either, I think anyway.

IMDB calls it "Toraigan", interestingly enough. Must be a direct romanization of the literal Japanese pronunciation.
