What do you run to anime for?
Is there a Reason why you watch anime? Do you do it to escape the harsh reality of life? or have you gone though a heartbreaking relationship and you need time to mend? Or do you watch it because you just like anime.
For me anime is more than anime. I may be pathetic or sad or call me what you will...but I get a sense of peace when I watch anime. I cant say I feel that way about anything else I do in my life. Anime is everything I want to be. I look at them and I think Why not me? Anime is both a blessing and a curse. You will never be like them or have a girlfriend or boyfriend like they do. You will never have powers like they do. Or pilot the things they pilot. But thinking you can be like them makes you stride to be a better person. I dont know I guess im weird but do any of you feel the same way?

i find anime philosophy makes be a better person, i dont go and rob old lady's anymore, i get tearfull when a character dies in a sad way, i am much calmer nowadays overall, i watch anime for two reasons 1) i like it and 2) to escape breathly from this world to another just to find someone worse of then yourself only to overcome these obsticals in their life, if they can doit, im sure i can.

indeed i would say also it just sort of allows me to be at peace and escape. but also just because i like anime. although it does pose the question why is it that so many people only get this from anime rather than live action or even other forms of animation? strange. Sayonara.

You mean you need a reason to watch anime?
I watch anime for various reasons. Lately just because I enjoy watching it.

I watch anime for lots of reasons, it's different, beats the shit out of most of the american cartoons (and regular TV) i see. Rather then starting a series and just riding it out till it dies, most anime series tell a story and when the story is finished so is the anime. The drawing style interests me, the plots are usualy much better then what i'm used to seeing when i go channel surfing, and there are so many things that are done in anime that just can't (or shouldn't) be done in real life. Plus i just like anime, and i sort of do find it easier to relax when i'm watching anime.

I watch anything that I like. Just because I come to places like this all the time doesn't mean I watch ONLY anime, I watch just about anything I deem good on TV (Law and Order, CSI, South Park, etc), plus I'm a big movie buff. I just happen to like lots of anime.

Amen. (Though there are American shows that I like now and then, I don't watch much usually.)MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:I watch it for two very good reasons: American tv sucks, and anime helps me pass time.
My old sig, that pissed people off here (yay!) was "Anime is entertainment." And that's what it is to me. Something fun to watch and collect, same as books or movies or video games. The day that I start thinking that an entertainment form has "saved my soul" or "gives my life meaning" is the day I check myself in for some serious therapy. Because if life itself can't give me joy, there's a problem.
That's my 2c, your mileage may vary.
