best music (in an anime series)

what anime series do you think has the best music?

For me it's a tie between the opening theme of hellsing and that comercial break thing for love hina.

I love the Cowboy Bebop music. Not just the opening and ending. Pretty much all of it.

Well, really depends on your tastes. Are you into Jazz, Classical/Orchestra, etc.?

However, I think it's safe to say regardless of the type, it's one artist:

Yoko Kanno.

Jazz - Cowboy Bebop
Orchestra - the Vision of Escaflowne
Techno - Macross Plus
"Tribal" - Earth Girl Arjuna
J-Pop - Anything by Maaya Sakamoto :Swoon:

My favorite is the Vision of Escaflowne. It may not be your favorite, but you must admit the music is quite good and epic. *Almost* as good as a true symphony and orchestra...almost :).

My favorite opening is...you guessed it "I Don't Need any Promises" (Yakusoku wa Irania) by Maaya Sakamoto/Yoko Kanno from The Vision of Escaflowne. It's so beautifully sung :).

you wouldn't belive the shit i listen too ... i'd probalby like a good deal of teh music you listen too ...

omg how could i forget FLCL! I loved the music form that series, exspecialy the closing credits song ... but almsot all the music form that series was great ...

I listen to the VoE soundtrack like every day. I love *almost* every song. I think the only ones I don't like are Cat's Delicacy and the other Merle song :-P.

no, i've stopped bashing people for their tastes in music ... i stopped this some time ago, before being scolded by kamoc. I may not think one kind of music is good, but thats just my overbloated, biases, dime a dozen opinion ... I should try hunting down the VoE sound track ... i tried getting a bunch of songs form the pillows ... but now i'm stuc with these files in my shared folder that look like this ... "the pillows - she's perfect (1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)" i try deleting them but my computer says the name is too long or invalid ... so i jsut leave them there ... i ahve no idea how they got there ... but they are annoying to look at ...

I'd have to agree and say anything by Yoko Kanno. The guys a genius. The music of VoE (and the movie) is great and the Bebop stuff....wow. :shock:
