in eva they have an episode where they play bach's Cello Suite no.1, i think its that ... i can't remember what episode it was that this happened in ... i love that song, i have it on my computer performed by Yo-Yo ma, it's great.
theres also this solo cello or viola playing at various parts in kare kano ... it keeps reminding me of Cello suite no.1, but it's problaby something else ... but i like it too ....

You beat me to the punch on that one... not only is she very talented, she's cute as the dickens.dwchang wrote:Too bad she's a chick, but still a geniusukogss0715 wrote:I'd have to agree and say anything by Yoko Kanno. I am very pleased to announce that the character Ed from Bebop was inspired by Yoko Kanno's personality! (According to the show's creator)
I think all of her music is exceptional and would place her soundtracks above all others.
I do like the music from NieA_7 and many of the Ghibli films have some wonderful music...
but hands down, Yoko Kanno's scores are just exceptional.
Sidenote to DWCHANG... You should check out Yoko Kanno's album of ORIGINAL music (Called "Songs to Fly")
It is great to hear what music she has composed simply for her own album release... not for a show or movie

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

I watched the interview with her on Bebop Domestic Disc 3. Strangely, she looked exactly the way I imagined that she would. Between that, her musical talents, and her energetic personality (based on the depressingly short interview), I think I'm in love...UncleMilo wrote:You beat me to the punch on that one... not only is she very talented, she's cute as the dickens.
Best music... well, I personally love the scores for Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, FLCL, Hellsing, and Serial Experiments: Lain.

"Country" Yes even Country - X Japan "I think"
Country? X Japan? X Japan is a J-rock dude. I think country is a US thing. I know that sounds racist, but well...country is almost always (isn't it always) American folks singing about things (usually) Americans relate to. I don't think any other country has the type of culture that would relate to Country Music.
Want another good J-rock band...Luna Sea...

I liked the music from Noir and .hack//sign.. alot
Yoko Kanno's work in Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex was awsome though. That intro we play in very expensive car audio and people look at as cross eyed as there gansta rap is blurred out by some techno opera thing. They suck, so we don't care.
