Worst anime ever?

Oh yes, Cardcaptors is pretty bad.. but I still say the damn first season Sailor Moon *remake* (I don't say dub since they didn't just dub it.. they rewrote the damn story beyond all recognition!) was worse. At least in the Cardcaptor's dub, the story stayed basically the same.

Hmm..I wonder if the live-action Saban's Sailor Moon should then be included. It's not really anime, just LOOSELY based on one. Basically Saban and DiC were originally fighting for the rights to SailorMoon...imagine SailorMoon like the Power Rangers except having a disabled sailor scout, a black one and so on. I have the intro...SO FREAKING HILARIOUS.

You should be glad DiC got the rights and at least only butchered the script and butchered it

Oh well, Gary, some of us still understand the difference between "I hate it" and "It's shit because I hate it, and somehow I get to decide for everyone because I'm SPECIAL".

I'm glad to be in the non-deluded group.

I happen to like Gravi, even though it's soapy (pining? in the first ep? the hell? Were you watching the OVA, 'cause that's entirely different...not that you care) and doesn't have a DEEP IMPORTANT PLOT ABOUT DEATH AND ANGST AND JUNK - and I don't go around telling everyone that what I think is law.

But then, I'm not surprised with this crowd. Whew.

And the story they rewrote beyond all recognition was hardly worth it to begin with. And it got repeated for 5 frelling seasons

I gotta agree on Gravi, though. My best friend and another friend's girlfriend brought the DVD over to watch. I think I sat through half an episode before giving up and hopping back online to chat with friends and listen to Phantom of the Opera.

Weiss Kreuz is another one that's all hype and no substance. All it is is lemon fodder fantasy for hormonal 14-year-old yaoi fangirls. And the animation is utter crap. Not to mention the overkill mopiness. I like angst, but DAMN.

Love Hina's another one. I have to agree with SarahtheBoring. I never found it funny. At least Ranma DESERVED the poundings he got from Akane. Keitaro gets the snot beaten out of him because he's just there, and never figures out that Naru is nothing but a one-note bitch.

And while I'm at it, I'll say my peace on the Metropolis/Eva issue.

Metropolis wasn't bad. It wasn't necessarily good, but it wasn't terrible. At least the animation was kickass. For those who say the animation quality was low budget, I believe you're making the mistake of equating simple character designs with bad animation. Just because the characters looked strange and over-simplified doesn't mean the animation was awful. Good animation means fluid movement and consistent character design, no matter how simple that design may be. And Met had all of that to boot. What I liked about Metropolis was that it had the feel of hand-drawn cels instead of the overly clean digital look that so many animes today have.

Evangelion, truly the most controversial anime of all time. People either love it to death or hate it to death (vey few can actually remain indifferent). And I must say I'm in the love category. And I'm one of the few out there who LIKED the ending(s). I don't acknowledge the existence of Death and Rebirth, since they were the mere anteshocks to End. But I guess I liked both endings because I'm strange in the fact that I prefer psychological depth to blood and gore. Although I liked the violence in Eva because it wasn't meaningless. And since it WAS only 26 episodes, there wasn't very much time for filler. And you've got to give Gainax credit in that they were flat frelling broke when it came time to make the last two episodes. The series literally almost didn't HAVE an ending. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good mindscrewing.

But just one more to add to this list of horridness: X the Movie. The TV series kicks ass. But the movie is just deplorable. You want to talk no character development? There's your ticket. A final death toll of 13 (I think), and not a one that was worth caring about because we didn't get a chance to know them before they croaked.

Because that's the worse for me. The new ones don't make any sense, and now have corny dialogue. Where are the originals when you need them.

They bombed just like TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). After their first few seasons they totally sucked. But that's not Anime.

I figure their both not Anime if you know what i mean.

Here, if it makes you feel better, I'll even reword something from that post up there. See where I said "It's just that Gravitation SUCKS!"? I'll reword it. "It's just that I think Gravitation SUCKS!" - Wow, what a difference. Actually, not really. It was my opinion before, and it's still my opinion afterwords. However, in the rewording, where I added "I think" unnecessarally, I am just treating you all like idiots since appearently I think that you all aren't intelligent enough to decude the fact that what I am stating is opinion and not fact.

No. I should not have to type "I think", or "Maybe", or "In my opinion" constantly. It's a given! It should be SUPPOSED! IT'S COMMON SENSE!

In other words, Sarah, I would really appreciate it if you keep your violent flaming away from me when I express myself, despite how offended you were by what I said for some odd reason. You can go ahead and say what you think.. but don't fucking accuse me of anything.. Especially trying to manipulate people. That's just wrong.
