Isn't that just a bit lazy on the writers part? I mean with the time taken up by title sequence you could have fit in another couple of episodes worth of plot in most series. Do you ever wonder what plot bombs you could be missing out on in your favourte anime if the titles were only cut by a minute?
I don't consider myself to have a short attention span but I always fast forward the titles and I never watch the credits.

I usually watch the Intro and Endings when..
-If they just kick ass
-New Intro/Ending
-The start of an arc
-The end of an arc. (In Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, when Noa's Ark exploded and everyone escaped and paid tribute to Noa's Death and flew off after the entire mind-bending and depressing ordeal, I just had to watch the ending Rakuen ~CAVE~... it felt 'complete' and superb..)

Nah! the intros are what I looove about anime (unless they really suck in which case they just annoy me but I can't recall any bad ones right now) I think the intros in more western series is more lazy. I mean in most cases they don't even film/animate any extra footage for the intro. They just reuse footage from the first couple of episodes. At least with anime often the footage is created especially for the intro and some intros even get modified as new characters or story arcs are introduced.pully2183 wrote:Isn't that just a bit lazy on the writers part? A lot of work would go into creating those intros so I can't think why you would call the writers lazy especially as in some cases they are converting a manga based story into an anime so its not like they wrote it in the first place. Admittedly some of the story lines and extra insights are cut when coverting from manga to anime but I think that has more to do with appealing to a wider auidence and episode constriants.
sorry didn't mean to rant

You gotta love openings, they're like small little AMV's with original animation (if done right, that is). After seeing an opening a few times over, you kinda start singing along... man, what's not to like about them?
For me, another one that sticks in my head - Kurumi
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
