I dunno, reading your original post, it seemed that you were complaining more about the machines in the futues making people lazy rather than anything else.
I guess war anime can be pretty depressing.
Anyone genre of anime particularly depressing?

The discussion of urban planning was so on topic it went right through you...and kept on goingomniinuyasha85 wrote:could we get back on topic here??
So that you actually have a name to work with: Mamuro Oshii
The core of almost all of them is about urban planning, and how urban landscapes define our individuality or lack thereof.

Akira was heavely depressing, especially the ending. From the very begining chase scene, you see how utterly futile all of it was. Of course Bebop was depressing, but the new Manga out there is rewriting the entire thing and it's supposed ot have a happier ending, so i'm gonna have to check it out. Trigun's ending for poor Wolfwood was very sad, especially since Millie was preggers (atleast that's a big theory floatin' around that i agree with.) In terms of letdowns, DBGT was a huge letdown, Goku just floatin' up to heaven with dah dragon man. No fight to the death, no agreements for later, just a big buh bye. Ninja Scroll seemed depressing, but that's from my point o'view. Big O (atleast all the ones translated, i haven't seen the undubbed ones yet) wasen't depressing as much as it was "Holy GOd i want more what the f**K HAPPENED?!"
SS5 Majin Bebi: Ok, I gotta go and shave my nuts... I mean... go home and get dressed for taekwon-do now.
