cool new manga

Post by Kuchiro » Sun Jul 13, 2003 11:41 pm

I know that the discussion is about Anime, but I had to throw this in.

It's not an anime, its a manga, but its called "Vampire Game", and its totally hilarious. This vampire king has sworn to kill his rival's reincarnate, but the only problem is, when the vampire himself is reincarnated, he is a housecat! AND, his rival's great-grandaughter's pet. Only the first book is out (as far as I know) but it's great. I hope that it (in the really, REALLY far future) becomes an Anime. It would be so much fun to do an AMV for!!

Found it! And it's cheap too. That probably means it's about one quarter the size of a normal graphic novel, right?

Heh, now theres a reason why I love those guys...

Tokyopop's manga might be cheap but by no means are they ever lacking...
Their stuff usually goes at a slightly above average length for a book.(roughly 150-200 pages)

I was hoping I'd get a response like that. It's been FOREVER since I bought any manga. I went to Media Play the other day and couldn't believe the selection they had there. Of course now I have this little thing called the internet for this kind of thing.

Yeah, Vampire Game is a pretty fun read. I find myself rereading the 1st graphic novel every once in a while when I'm bored.

The second Vampire Game is out (at least that's what I've heard) and I SO have to get my hands on it. I went on a mini shopping spree at Borders and freaked out majorly when I brought three mangas to the cashier and found out I could get another one free! ^^ So I got Demon Diary. If you don't mind a little Shonen Ai, this manga is totally for you, Eclipse is to die for, and Reanef is Lord Clueless. The summary is pretty much that this boy-demon Reanef has to become a fearsome demon lord, and by the time the first book is finished he's already sent the Demon Council into hysterics by his attempts at acting evil, totally humiliated his tutor, the great renound Eclipse, AND spared the life of a knight who came to kill him (a MAJOR no-no). The first book also includes two other quick stories, but the second book is free of such, and tells a little about how Reanef became a demon lord and all that.

So sorry about the rambling, I have a tendency to get on a roll and just talk (or type) non-stop. ^^;;

Well, with all the talk about the mangas listed above, it has gotten me quite interested. I am going to read them all!!! HAHAHAH!!! (Probably not because I am too busy with the Rising Stars of Manga provided by Tokyopop)

I wish someone would license the Sakura Diaries manga. I liked the anime and it doesn't conclude at all.
