Ya' know, I considered doing the same thing, but then I decided the likliness of it happening is very very slim. So, what I'd suggest is that you start out with a comic (probably a webcomic. I'm not clear on the detials, but www.keenspace.com is supposed to host webcomics for free.) and then get your fans from there.

And as for actual animation. Well, you're going to have to be very patient, because in the end you're going to find yourself drawing hundreds (thousands?) of cells.

I am a writer and working on being an anime artist. Within the past year and a half I've been involved with a project to do a sci-fi shoujo graphic novel and a project to do a yaoi oav; the sci-fi project is thoroughly dead, leaving my contributions (mainly the partially completed script, but also a few drawings) available to be canabalized for a new project. The yaoi oav project isn't quite dead, which means I currently have 3/4 of a script and 5 volunteer staff artists who have each been working on one character design; so if your team or part of it wanted to join this project we could be up and running in a week or two; but I realize this is unlikely because it's a yaoi.

Anyway, I am still determined to create some sort of manga or anime, so here's my little resume:

I write science fiction and fantasy romances, usually gay male. My writing style, characters, and worldbuilding have been highly complemented, but I am weak on plotting. I like working cooperatively with other writers, and I am an excellent editor.

I draw shoujo anime style and am especially good at monsters and clothing/costume design, but not so good at background art or coloring, although I've gotten some decent results coloring with those GellyRoll pens. I have done simple animations.

I also know how to put together a fairly nice web page - please don't take my Samples page as an example, because I keep it skeletal because I have to change it so often. Oh, and speaking of my samples page, here's the link:

My scripts for both projects that I mentioned above are available here if anyone wants to look at them as source material for a project for this new team - look for FollowMyLeader.doc and UkeOnTop.doc

You're going to need:

Storyboarder
Director
Character Designer [my request ^_^]
Inbetweeners [maybe 10 if you're VERY lucky]
GOOD CG painters... [I think it's harder than it looks, but I"m not that good at it so...]

Storyboarder: Got a few
Director: Got 2, will decide if we need more
Character Designer: Got 3, with you it's 4
Inbetweeners: Got like 5 or 6 of these people already, lol
GOOD CG painters: Now u'r talking... we only got 1 at the moment... I'm trying to get Megami and her friend to join... she's already famous tho so I dunno...

Ty for the idea, but that's totally out of question. We will discuss doing a Online Manga for a while... but a comic is just silly. Plus, Bob and George rules... let them deal with comics.
